Travel Insurance
|
I’ve seen a few posts on what looks like domestic insurance, but are there any suggestions on travel insurance for journalists/photographers. I’ve read the fine print on most travel insurance policies, and they all exclude war, riot..etc. I’m sure such a policy has a premium, and that’s fine-I just need a better idea of where to look. Do you have anybody you’ve used and are happy with?
Thanks!

im taking out normal travel insurance for my next trip,, just jacking up the excess to $6000 which is going to cost me an extra $80 or so. . im going through STA travel here in Australia. . .

I used to use STA a long time ago. Back in the day (if my memory is correct) they were one of the few places that covered pretty much anything. Now they exclude war (declaired or not) riot, and “civil commotion” (which I assume is an easy way to deny quite a few claims)….
I’m sure there’s a good policy out there, but I’m having a heck of a time finding it…

‘civil commotion’ aye, hmm better look into that! Geeze so they could write my whole trip off to India under the way i conduct my self :-D, , , big jokings of course, i am not an aussie bogan with a slight alternative contiki tour feel to me!!! haha

I don’t know if this can fit what you’re looking for, and maybe you know about it already, but try have a look www.internationalsos.com. It’s what I was covered with while working for an ngo. I think it’s more focused on long-term expatriate workers, providing emergency evac and medical coverage. It might be worth a look. Best luck. Tom
