Travel Info Iraq/Turkish Border

I am traveling to Sulaymania and the flights via Amman are incredibly expensive, not to mention the flight to Sulay. I am looking now to fly to Dyabakir and then drive to Sulay to save $$. Any info re if the border crossings are open or a less expensive way to go would be greatly appreciated. Is AirServ still servicing the region?
Thanks!

Hello Lorna,

In 2005 I cross the border in that way with a letter from an aid organisation I don’t know if you need one. Was quite easy but you need to have some patience, even you can take a bus from Diyabakir to the border. From the border to Sulymania you have to take a taxi I think it will be around $100,-

Good luck,

It’ll cost you at least $150 for a taxi from Diyarbakir just to the Iraqi border so not sure if you’d save much by the time you get to Suleimaniah.
