I am a freelance photojournalist working in Africa since 2005, living in Accra, Ghana but traveling a lot around the continent.
I have worked for the European Pressphoto Agency (EPA) since moving to West Africa in January 2007 and I also work for
IRIN Photo, part of the United Nations’ humanitarian news service. My pictures have appeared in numerous international publications, and I’ve been commissioned by a range of newspapers including The Christian Science Monitor, The Financial Times, The Independent, The News of the World, The Sunday Times and The Times. My photo slideshows are regularly seen on the
BBC, CSMonitor and FT websites.
I also take on assignments for non-governmental organisations. These have included Save the Children, Sightsavers International, Merlin, Opportunity International and Unicef.
Before moving to West Africa I lived in Uganda from 2005 to 2007 photographing conflicts, elections and humanitarian crises in Burundi, DR Congo, Uganda and Sudan for Agence France Presse (AFP). Since relocating to West Africa, I have photographed a wide range of stories in Ghana, Liberia, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Sierra Leone and Togo.
