Unembedded.net - Great speaker
|
A few of my co-workers at The Roanoke Times in Roanoke, Va recently had the pleasure of listening to photojournalist and lightstalker member Thorne Anderson speak at Hollins University about his work as an unebedded photographer in Iraq. I want to highly recommend him as a speaker or guest at any journalism or photojournalism event as he and his four colleagues promote their traveling exhibition and sales of their book. The speech, which lasted nearly an hour and a half touched on details of his daily working life, wonderful anecdotes of his experiences and his firm belief in the methodology of his project. Anderson is not only an amazing photographer, but his clear goals and intent on telling the civilian Iraqi side of the war have made him an awesome reporter as well.
I encourage you all to check out their work at http://www.unembedded.net and try to hear them or recruit them to speak at a college or event near you.
