unrecognizable

I’m doing research on photographing people unrecognizable for safety or privacy reasons. I’d like to hear your experiences and thoughts on the subject. Isn’t this like hidding the truth because you hide things or blur it instead of showing it full on!? Do you know photographers who do this and do this very good? Even for portraitphotography? All thoughts on this subject are welcome! How are your own experiences, do you find it limits your options to work or do you find it refreshing?
