Hello everyone, I wonder if any of you could help me with a video question….. I would like to transfer a video tape (shot with a small sony video camera) onto a dvd…. so far no much luck! I have a mac and I was wondering if I could do this with I movie or I dvd….. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Chiara

Hi Chiara,
Of course you can do it, if you haven´t already found the way to do it:
Using the videocamera conect it to your mac with a firewire cable ( i guess that the video camera is a digital one and you will have this connector, called iLink in Sony).
Capture it with imovie.
You can make a menu or not with iDVD and then toast it to a DVD.
The help (from help menu I mean) you can have from the software in your mac is quite helpul and easy to understand.

Thank you Louis. That is exactly what i was trying to do but for some reason did not quite work…... will play some more and hopefully will succeed!!! thanks again, Chiara

...also if you have toast you can do it there, click on video and then drag the files and it should do it for you….

I connected the camera and opened Imovie, then cilcked on import, I get a little clip and after that I am not too sure…. I draged the clip up and down but not sure how to copy it or transfer it to dvd…. sorry guys i feel a bit useless on the video department…did i make any sense to you anyway? muchas gracias!
