VII about Irak war

Make sure you watch all three – quite interesting. But be warned – there’s a high scarf factor. :)
Not the F*#^ scarf’s again.
Thanks for these links. Really enjoyed that too. Merci!
Great links, keep them coming if others know of similar links. I dont know about you guys but im off to buy a scarf, who needs a Leica when you’ve got a scarf???
Laurent, appreciate this very much, Thank You!
Its gotta be a COOL scarf though. Even I my LS profile photo, Im wearing a scarf. But its gotta be a bit of ethnic looking cloth- it cant be like a plaid or tartan one, the kind I wore in winter, with galoshes when I was like 6. That would be awesome!
BTW the videos are great, if a bit dated- its very interesting to see Christopher Anderson in VII. Anyone know why he left and joined Magnum ?
There’s a little info about Christopher’s VII to Magnum switch if you google him but no real explanation. It looks like he gave an interview on the subject but it’s no longer available from Martin Fuchs blog.
I wear ethnic scarves when shooting in India. Never realized how “cool” that made me. :)
A tartan pattern is very ethnic. And very fucking cool.
Cool videos … it’s always good to hear from Nachtwey. Now I just need a scarf.
I agree, Eros. I just wish I saw them more often!
Woke up quite sick, I’m wearing a tibetan scarf right now! Don’t I look “photo-fashionable” – Not!
Hey thanks Laurent: these videos are great! Cool to hear those guys – and seeing Alexandra…

Who needs scarfs.
Me, I’m going to revive spats.
Spats are cool, and look good. You just don’t know it.
And they keep mud off our shoes in war zones.
I know some see spats as a symbol of unfettered 1920’s capitalism and the supression of workers. So, I’ll also have to “reclaim” spats.
Did you know Che wore spats? And Ghandi and Capa and Arafat (when they were young). Ok. Maybe not.
But i’ll shop the photos and call them iSpats, and they’ll only come in white. Then you’ll all buy them. All you’ll be just as cool.
Oh: they look great with scarfs.
Just sayin’.
Tom I’m with you on the Spats!
Men look Sooooo good with fashionable footwear!
But regardless of the scarves I still think this is Noble work…
Ehhh- scarfs.
Ascot. An elegant accessory from a more civilized time.

the voice over sounds like the guys from south park yet still cool videos. oh and yes scarfs all the way haha
What about a fleece scarf? Comfortable, fashionable (to me) and easy cleaning of lenses and cameras. Thanks for the interesting videos.

Ladies and gentlemen, I must respectfully disagree. More important than the scarf to one’s success as a photographer is to be of shorter-to-middling height with a noticeable but inexcessice belly. All the best photographers are built like that. With a few exceptions of course - that only prove the rule. ;))
Thank God…I look just like that.
That is why the Japanese and Chinese are often good in photography (That means nothing, of course)!
Otherwise, as I am a good french committed to my principles, wearing scarves in winter, to avoid being sick, I did not understand your attachment to this accessory, and it’s very handy for cleaning your lenses and your camera, as Greg said !
So I 1m85 extent, I do not have a big belly and I wear scarves, Am I a good photographer? ;)
Yes, many scarves but all the same it’s excellent work.
What if you’re tall, dark and handsome? I think I may pull my kiffiyeh out of storage for it’s bad-assery.
If you’re tall, dark and handsome, you might have a woman or two around your neck, along with your camera and a scarf :-)
That’s not such a bad idea, Michael…
:)
