shrap/blurry pix

Has anyone experienced the following with their 1-D…

Half or better of the frame will be blurry while the other part is tack sharp.

I’ve tried everything on my end and a Canon Authorized repair shop couldn’t get it fixed. The only thing the guy did was tighten a screw at the back of the sensor. Slightly.
My next option is to send it back to Canon.
I’m hoping to this hasn’t happened to you but if it has let me in on the solution.
