Website Slideshows
|
Hi,
Can you alert me/us to your favourite slideshows or explain how best to create slideshows that upload quickly and easily? Is there a way to avoid the long waits for whole sequences to upload or to watch the clock before the images appear? Any suggestions?
Peace,
Jenny

I think people largely are using soundslides?
|
soundslides loads fast enough for most people’s purposes. i’ve embedded soundslides slideshows into my website by hotlinking empty text boxes in iweb to a hosting folder where i’ve uploaded the slideshows.
that sounded easy enough to understand in my head, but on paper its sounds like gibberjabber…
best, dave

Check out Vuvox.com. Free, fast and embed-able.
|
i use soundslides with the option of not including audio. i think it loads fast enough and it is very easy to use and embed into an html page if you wanted to customize the html page, otherwise just use the html page that soundslides makes for you automatically.

I`ve tried out and purchased Soundslides without checking other programs, but you might be wise to try out a few.
I used index.html created in Soundslides and copy and paste my normal web page html tags into the file. Since I have not created a final version yet, the rest of my website does not know if the show exists, but I can create a link to it from the next file directory. For the final version I will rename the index.html to something more descriptive so that Google will index my slideshow. I will also add some text at the bottom of the webpage for the search engine to pick up since the text in the slideshow will not be indexed.

Hi Jenny soundslides is one of the cheapest, easiest and best purposes for producing slide shows that can be quickly uploaded to the www.
How are things in that end?

Thanks a lot everyone!
David: Your approach sounds extremely easy by the way you expressed it but yes, you are right, it is totally incomprehensible to me! Further explanation would really be appreciated – especially by way of PM.
Armando: Things are going well, at a pace in line with where I live so both can be a little frustrating at times! But at least we have electricity and water again which makes a change from the past 6 weeks! All I need now is a) your/others technical knowledge to finish off my website. b) a second pair of eyes to help with editing. c) a handful of people who are totally in love with my work. d) and a few other things!!
Peace to you my friend,
Jenny x
