Weekend in Stockholm
|
I’m scrounging for travel tips again, anyone care to share any general info about Stockholm? Just spending a long weekend there, probably going to be concentrating on street imagery. Are there any restrictions about photography in public places? Hotspots for lots of interesting activity I should aim for? And somewhere I can get a good coffee. Oh yeah – and a decent bar with beer prices that aren’t quite stratospheric would be good…

John I have a cousin in Stockhols and he’s a cab driver. He’s very eclectic but really knows his way around. He speaks pretty good english so you’ll be able to communicate. If you speak Serbian your even better off cause he’s fluent. Any way shoot me an e-mail and I’ll try to put you in touch with him. I’m at jtf6agent@aol.com. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi John, There are no restrictions on taking photos in public that I know of. What do you mean by street imagery and interesting activities? Trendy people or regular people going about their business?
Cheers, Daniel

Thanks for the replies Nick/Daniel, I went to Stockholm only a few days after posting, so have been and returned. Had a great time, its a beautiful city, and isn’t everyone in Stockholm trendy Daniel? Very sharp dressers! I think I did spot a few ‘regular’ people in the city centre but they seem hard to find :)

Haha, yeah if you stick to the city center everyone is trendy. I was gonna suggest that you should have taken the subway out of town, into one of the suburbs. I think that is where the regular people and Svensson’s (Joe Regular) live. Glad you enjoy your trip though!
