Momentarily bolloxed up. And I’d bet my post will not report.

by Paul Treacy | 09 Mar 2008 03:03 | New York City, United States |
Nope, reported Paul… But there aren’t many posts younger than three days on my front page, either.

Last night I posted a few alerts about this LS mess, in the alerts section of the site. Those alerts have since been removed, not by me. So I stupidly conclude that someone with keys to LS saw, read, and trashed them. Meaning, at least one person in the LS penthouse knows 1) filtering is messed up for most, 2) not all subjects update, 3) not all replies show up, 4) some subjects don’t register replies in the subjects list, 5) yesterday Bob momentarily stopped running, for hugs.

this is fricking ridiculous….

by Bob Black | 10 Mar 2008 12:03 | toronto, Canada |
Death may be ridiculous. This is simply silly. Some stupid nitwit is asleep, that’s all.

Stupid:

that is true, but i expect to die ;))))))))))))))...i almost wondering if this is the Death-by-Injection dissolve of LS…rather than the cyanide smog…..

hoping Shinji is just, somewhere in the s.pacific sunbathing, where my sorry ass needs to me :)

cheers

I’m so stupid, I figure I’ll live forever. Stupid photographers never die. We just get lost. Much like LS.

hmmmm.

Just a guess but he is probably tied up with a money making gig or as Bob says, on vacation….sorry to hear you are stressed out Bob, I know the feeling. OK, back to work.

something weird definitely… tried looking for some posts this morning and it keeps crashing my browser.. and none of the posts i’m looking for are there. can’t seem to load the member directory, or individual photogs pages. was thinking my computers flipped… or
is it just LS?

I’ve never figured out why I see one list of posts before I log in and a very different list of posts just after I log in.

by Thorne Anderson | 14 Mar 2008 07:03 | Atlanta, GA, United States |
That’s the filtering… default is by Extended Network… click on the link at the top of the page and you can change it.

I think a lot of people having turned their filtering off so they aren’t seeing the new posts. But I also think this is an example of how passive many people on LS are. I would imagine that less than 50 people make up 90% of the posts. I know looking at the assignments section I am sad to see my name up there all too often. I think we should encourage more people to post…but how?

..it’s all part of the fun…...................

The filtering is mostly not by choice. Instead, something broke a few weeks ago and many, if not all, suddenly had their filtering turned on, without knowing it. Happened to me, and everyone else I know here, posting.

Another inexplicable “feature” is that people who do not log in never know there is a whole different list of threads on the home page for those who do log in. I once directed a client to LS, to a particular thread of import to both of us. A gig depended on it. Should have sent her the link instead of just the name. Not being a member, she never saw the thread, never found it, and by the time it all got straight, someone else was all over the stupid gig.
