The idea is based on the National Union of Journalists’ London Freelance “recent rates”:http://www.londonfreelance.org/rates/newrates.html guide. This is an informal survey of working photographers. The accuracy of the information cannot be guaranteed, as anyone can anonymously edit or add day rates to the site.
