What was on the back of your camera??
|
I’m work for newspaper, I shoot digital. But I still carry an F3 with me everywhere I go. It was a compulsive buy after I got my last tax return. I had one in high school and college, and it was great camera. I kept up with shooting film all these years and wanted to get a film kit that would actually last. I’ve been shooting with my F3 for a few months now, and last night I took a snapshot of my girlfriend’s dog and carefully cut a square around his face. Then I slid the small photo into the frame on the back of the camera meant to hold the cardboard end of film box so you can remember the film speed. I suddenly had a rush of memories, mostly of the different pictures that had once adorned my camera. Many of them I have to admit… were of ex-girlfriends. So what was on the back of your camera?

Was? Is. Stupid piece of paper with 200, 400, 800 or 1600 on it. Depending. Presently, one body in use carries a piece of paper with 200 on it, the other 1600.

a horribly diagonally torn sliver of wrapper from a 120 roll. tearing that and trying to slide it under the plastic cover sucked.

One old F3 currently has a piece of paper that says empty…....I am still one of those who will quickly grab a film camera to shoot…....sometimes without thinking!
Take care

A piece of Black Gaffa so I’m not allways looking at the LCD – the fag end of a box of Velvia 400X when shooting the Mamiya 7 , white paint pen on the back of my X-Pan!

Am I really the only dork that put pictures on the back of their camera??
Sarah – how telling of our times…
