——————-
There is a certain moment that is visible to my soul. As a photographer, I try to capture that space in time when conflict and hope meet. My style is a very simply one. My goal is to tell a simple story of those that have been reduced to the fringe of humanity. The imagery is basic – while the saga remains complex. My body of work is not at all about my ability as a photographer. It is about my global passion for justice, equality, and peace.
As a photographic artist that place in time… is the second I live for.
15 years of crisis documentary: several world conflicts, humans in extreme poverty, crazy U.S. gangs and many tears.
As I reflect on my early 20s, the trips to the conflict zone with both still and movie cameras came back to back. That was a unique time in my life. Global hate and broken peace became my focus; my youthful vision began to blur… too much too soon.
I found that I had to put the cameras down for several years. Because that special place, the moment in time that displays conflict and hope became a fixed burden in my life. My peace came after much reflection, rest and faith: I now understand me.
Interestingly, I now find greater joy in the process of shooting images, and art of photography.
Additionally, I’m available again for features and assignments. I am now ready to search again for that unique second in life, a moment when inner discord blurs to hope.
The depth in a subject’s eyes can often tell the story of their pain, yet the twinkle found in it emotes the story of hope for peace…
