Witness Journal new online magazine - story published

Hi everybody,

I wanted to spread the word about a new (well…just a few months old!) Italian online photography magazine called Witness Journal.

“Distributed freely via the Internet, Witness Journal tells small and big Italian and international stories trhough images by professional photographers and amateurs. Firmly being opened to the contributions of anyone, Witness offers authors a journalistic stage where they have the chance to express their skill and to promote their work.”

The guys are very nice and it’s an interesting example of Web 2.0 applied to photography.

(BTW, they published my story called “Yucatan Fors Sale” on the January issue. The text is in Italian, but your feedback on the pictures is welcome!).

Nice pics, funky mag. I hope,(sigh), they paid you for your work and it isn’t just another example of web 2 exploitation of photographers.

They don’t pay, or at least they haven’t yet, but to be sincere I don’t feel exploited. Photographers are free to contribute with their work and not all of them are chosen. I’m happy they chose my pictures and that a close friend of mine was able to write the text.
I feel it more like a nice way of doing self-promotion and networking with other photograpers… but that’s my personal point of view.
