Working in Bamako, Mali

Hello all, hoping one of you fine people out there would have any information or experience working in Bamako, Mali. Any contacts? How difficult is it to work in the city? Government restrictions? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

sorry to say i dont have any contacts in bamako, but would say that i found working there a huge challenge. no govt restrictions that i encountered, but people really do not like being photographed. a little baksheesh is obligatory to get any cooperation in mali, but in bamako people seemed especially hostile to the camera. can be intimidating.

i was only there a few days and your experience may be v.different depending on the job, but as much as i love mali, i wouldn’t look forward to spending time in the capital. best of luck!
