World Press Photo FTP problems?

Hello-

I was wondering if anyone else is having problems uploading to World Press’ ftp site?

I’ve gotten a response from the site that says there’s an error, if it happens again to contact them and then “Event key: 959040815 Event details: Could not connect to the Imaging server.”

I was uploading around 10pm-ish Eastern US Time. Hopefully, I have no problems in the morning. But I’d like to know if I’m the only one.

I’ve been having these same issues all evening here on the West Coast too.. an email in to Amsterdam but it’s still really early over there.. I too hope it’ll resolve itself by morning :) Anyone else have any news?

Same for me too. I managed to upload stuff earlier today successfully, but went back to complete my submission and got the error message. I can’t even see my previous (successful) uploads any more. This happened around 8pm EST. Its still the same now (1.00 am). I emailed too. Perhaps they got overloaded?... They will be up in a few hours, so lets hope this gets resolved.

Seems to be back up. Time for bed.

Good luck, y’all.

The website upload facility is having lots of dramas too. “Over flow errors” whatever they are. :)

It has happened to me too but log out and log back in, the problem seems to resolve itself, happened at least 20 times but got there in the end

Just like last year, Lisa. And just like last year I am doing it a the last moment. :)

Having a lot of problems here, too. Can only upload a couple of frames at once; none of my stories will make it all the way. Most recently, I can’t log in. Hopefully all of this will get resolved for everyone.

I’m so glad to see that the photo gods are looking after us strugglers/slackers. Why do I feel guilty though, I’m not even catholic? I’m doing the 24-hr extension dance, who wants to join me?

All seem fine now. Submitted successfully at 12.00 pm EST

I tried three times now with out any luck. Also if you believe in Murphy’s law, I thought one of my external drives went on me this morning. It turns out I just needed to buy a new casing and connectors, but it was a scare. Can’t emphasis more the importance of multiple backups of hard drives.

Anyone else still having problems? And this extension? Is it legit or is it Nachtwey trying to thin out the pool? I haven’t recieved any emails from them.

Charlie, I also got an email from World Press: 24 hour extension.

Lance or anyone else that received an email from World Press Photo,

Had you already sent an email to the help desk?

by Charlie Mahoney | 10 Jan 2008 19:01 | Barcelona, Spain |
I got the same email, and I had sent an email into their help people. The form of the letter back though suggested that it was sent to everyone though.
