www.joao-pina.com - Finally!

Dear all,

finally I have put together a website! It took me way more then I expected but I am happy with it.

You can see it in www.joao-pina.com

Any feedback on the work and the website structure is more then welcome.

Many Thanks.

Joao

dude, it’s nice.

technically-wise, it’s smooth, functional and intuitive. best part, it keeps the interest on your photos, which are damn good.

as for content, it’s engaging and well edited. your work from afghanistan keeps the eye.

Nice site. I especially like the political prisoner story.

very nice clean website and lots of great pictures! my only criticism would be on the combination of imagery in the main slideshow. there are many worlds of difference between the afghan stuff and the portraits – such a broad range might put some clients off … ?

well done nonetheless!

Joao,

I’m viewing it on a super huge screen and it looks fantastic – it lets your work speak. I’d like to see the speed of the main slideshow faster to whet the appetite but other than that, it’s one of my favourites: elegant, stylish and easy to navigate.

PS I’ve just returned to your site to look at your book – its fascinating! The speed of the main slideshow was fine second time around – local transmission speeds were slowing it down. I checked some of the stories that interested me and felt I’d like some detail to read on them such as the story on clandestine abortion – that image of the hospital bed with the stirrups and the lights above is chilling. Some of your images – particularly those that shoot into the light framed by darkness – prompted me to think of Marcus Bleasdale and, your book intro made me consider the importance of walking towards the future with one eye on the past… both in terms of personal, and global, history.

Some really great, thought provoking work!

Peace,

Jenny

sorry, didnt see earlier! :))…absolutely loved it…and it’s clean, quick and navigatable! :))…if there is one negative thing, it’s that I WANT MORE MORE ! :)))…but im dripping with hunger for photographs :)))

magnificent work :)))

hadn’t seen much of the afghanistan stuff, nor the much of the work in the magazines :))…it’s gorgeous!

by the way, re-reading about your book, i keep thinking of my beloved Antunes :))))….

clean design that doesn’t get in the way of the photographs. The before and after photographs of Portuguese political prisoners is very moving. fine work.
