Yana Paskova is a nocturnal creature, but the spark that wakes her in the morning is her passion for photography, writing, music, and U.S. & international affairs. A NYC-based, Bulgaria-born and Chicago-bred photojournalist, she enjoys letting her camera guide her geography — from covering the U.S. presidential campaign and the minutiae of life across the States, to assignments in Eastern Europe, Russia, and Asia. Her clients include The New York Times, Newsweek, TIME, Getty Images, USA Today, Chicago Tribune, The Chronicle of Higher Education, and Edelman PR. In addition to her experience in photography, Yana’s background in journalism and multimedia allows her to add professional sound, video and reporting/writing to her picture stories. Her ultimate motivation is to make photographs that not only capture the eye with composition, but also the mind with narrative – to find the power of combined style and content, whether in a historic or a seemingly mundane moment.
