YesPhotographyDay: Photospotting!

Isn’t it today the famous non-photography-day?

Well.. here’s a thing you can do and a small story.. Back in 2005, when I still was a moderator at the Digital Photography in Greece community, a friend came with the idea/text about how much we like to photograph.. We occasionally made t-shirts for our community so that was another good opportunity.

Photospotting (as in trainspotting ;) reads:

“Choose a system. Choose fps and buffer size. Choose brand. Choose a model. Choose a fucking DSLR. Choose lenses, prime, fisheye, wide, tele and macro. Choose memory and external storage. Choose filters. Choose flash and slave flash. Choose extra battery and grip. Choose charger. Choose tripod, choose tripod head. Choose case. Choose strap. Choose software. Choose hardware for the software. Choose a pick-up truck to carry all these. Choose equipment –
NO, choose photography, take a camera and choose a frame.
Choose your future.
Choose to photograph.”

and looks like this:

The image was given freely for anyone to print on a t-shirt or a mug.. or anything. I guess it is appropriate to present it here to today.

Here are the tifs for high quality prints

—for white

—for black

It would be fit to request not to remove the url and the nicknames at the bottom but I can’t oblige anyone. This is shared under the Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-Share Alike 3.0 License and definetelly shouldn’t be sold as a ready t-shirt or anything else in order to make profit.

I hope you enjoy the text and the message it delivers.. I’m not a photojournalist (or indent to be one) and I understand how I stand in a community like LS where almost all are photojournalists.. but photography is a passion shared by many..

Nice! Funnily enough, after breaking my leg 5 months ago, I’ll be doing my first photo job for ages today, in crutches.

So bollocks to No Photography Day!

Er, then I’ll be going back to bed :(
