About

Dave is a Shanghai-based photographer, writer and cinematographer. He is the 2012 winner of the Walkley Award for Best Freelance Journalist of the Year and a finalist in Australia’s National Photographic Portrait Prize. He specialises in reportage, features and portraiture. Dave’s work has appeared in such publications as Rolling Stone, Newsweek, Der Spiegel, ELLE, Corriere della Sera, Monument, The Fader, Die Welt, Neue Zuercher Zeitung, Focus, Geographical, The Diplomat, Mercedes Magazine, Lexus Magazine, Walkley Magazine, The Age, Sydney Morning Herald, The Australian and the Big Issue. Dave has also worked with NGOs such as WITNESS, Australian Red Cross, Oxfam, CARE Australia, Medicos del Mundo. Other clients include Shell, State Government of Victoria, University of Melbourne, Hotel Windsor, Jeff Banks and Absolut Cut.

Dave’s portrait and photo-documentary work is held in the permanent collections of the National Portrait Gallery of Australia, The National Library of Australia, State Library of Victoria and Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology.
