I am currently working as the Workshop Director for Momenta Workshops (www.momentaworkshops.com) based in Washington, D.C. Momenta specialize in documentary photography training for both amateurs and professionals with amazing professionals as instructors including David Alan Harvey, Chris Usher, Jeff Hutchens among others.

For the last six years, I have also worked as an international photojournalist based in Washington, D.C. I cover politics and news both domestically and abroad. My clients include National Geographic Books, The New York Times, The New York Times Magazine, The Washington Post Magazine and other newspapers and magazines.

I work with many international nonprofits for coverage of their humanitarian efforts globally including Doctors Without Borders, The Global Fund (a branch of the UN & WHO) and The Calvert Foundation among others.

I am currently serving as the President of WPOW (Women Photojournalists of Washington). Two years prior, I served on the Board of the White House Press Photographers Association and am an active member of both WHNPA and the National Press Photographers Association. Lead Instructor David Alan Harvey’s ongoing “American Family” project will be the conceptual focus of this workshop. His travels examining the fabric of the American culture and sense-of-self are the backdrop of this ongoing workshop series. Students can see and explore the development of a body of work crafted over time by one of America’s most well-known photographers.

Attending photographers explore their own interpretations on the American Family while being guided by Harvey through the challenges of creating a photo narrative project. This workshop is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to photograph under the guidance of a master and explore story development with a Magnum legend.

Attendees will receive one-on-one editing and hands-on instruction to hone their strengths and overcome any weaknesses. If you are a more intermediate photographer, we will help you craft projects to grow your photography and take your vision to the next level.

The workshop tuition fees include:
- one-on-one access to instructors on a daily basis,
- personal portfolio review
- all handouts and workshop materials
- daily slideshows and lectures
- Breakfast every morning
- A blowout celebration party with David and Momenta to the public with a slideshow presentation of all the work!

Students arrange their own transportation and hotel accommodations to fit within their budget. For those who are interested, Momenta has arranged special rates at an area hotel for our students. Please contact our staff for itinerary and travel arrangement questions.

Important Workshop Notes: Students must bring their own equipment, including laptop, cameras and software. An online downloadable trial version of Photo Mechanic is available for all our students. David Alan Harvey requests that each student send a portfolio or a link to work online before the start of the workshop.
