The subject is too complicated to cover on a site like this. But suffice it to say, creating an agency won’t get you business that you could not get on your own. And, it takes a lot of capital to start one.

But the first question is – why would you want to start one?

To pool the resources and work of ambitious, talented but lesser know photographers in a particular region of the world.

Hey GM… checking it out and will get back to you. Grazie.

Pooling resources to do what?

In all seriousness, an agency is no stronger than its members. Really talented photographers can usually get in to see photo buyers (editorial or commercial). For them, an agency will not improve that. On the other hand, it can also bring down their standing if lesser quality photographers are in the agency.

All I can say is that most agencies lead to heartbreak.

Boreal Collective
Echo (mentioned)
Medium Collective
Prime Collective

depending on where you are, a collective can be a very strategic and positive move. tax breaks, art grant funding, personal resources, connectivity… like i said, a long list.
