PONT-ROUGE (HAITI) PORTRAIT PROJECT EXHIBIT

(my apologies if this shows up twice, it didn’t seem to be listed the first time I posted)

A joint exhibit and collaboration by artist Isaiah King and photojournalist Q. Sakamaki at Powerhouse Arena, 37 Main St. Brooklyn, NY 11201, Opening reception and charity auction Thursday Sept. 9, 2010 from 7-9pm.

Seven large woodcut portraits of Haitian earthquake survivors by King will be auctioned along with nine of Sakamaki’s original photos taken at the Pont-Rouge refugee camp shortly after the earthquake on January 12, 2010. Proceeds will benefit The Haitian People’s Support Project & Solidarité Haïtienne.

Other auction items include a weekend in a private apartment at Rockefeller Plaza, Manhattan.

Silent auction from 7-8pm. Live auction at 8pm sharp.
Auction preview & early registration September 8, 5-7pm
The works will be on display from September 7-19, 2010
