About

SAMIR KARAHODA
Working as photographer since 1992. In 1996 left to Istanbul where worked as a freelance photographer, darkroom master and cameraman, where in meantime started his photography studies.
In 2003, he graduated from University of Mimar Sinan, Faculty of Fine Arts – Department of Photography in Istanbul where at the moment is doing his Masters on Fine Art Photography. From 2003 lives and works in Kosovo as a freelance photographer, cinematographer and short film programmer. His last cinematographed short film “Column”, is awarded with 15 International prizes and screened in more than 40 film festivals.
For 8 years he is a curator of short film program in International Documentary and Short Film Festival “Dokufest” in Prizren.
For two years he lectured in Institute of Photography and Film “Gjon Mili” in Pristina.
In 2008 published a photography book “Train” .

Call for entries:The 9th Gjon Mili Photography Competition

ANNOUNCMENT

For accepting submission of works from the field of Fine Art and Documentary photography with the theme “Insane, our world”

Photos, black and white or color, shall be of format 30x 40 cm. All works have to be submitted in CD-DVD or have to be sent by email, format JPEG.

All unframed works shall be submitted together with notes on author technique and the short description of the story .

Author shall compete with a photography series, 3 or 5 photos.

Submitted works are evaluated and selected by selecting Committee.

All works shall be submitted to Kosova Art Galery from 10 June to 09 of August 2009.

Curator of the 2009th edition is Samir Karahoda.
